No further CUPE job action planned at VIU
Students at Cowichan's Vancouver Island University campus can rest easy.
CUPE has informed VIU there will be no further job action.
"Vancouver Island University (VIU) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1858 have taken a major step forward towards reaching a tentative settlement for a renewed collective agreement," Dan Hurley said in a media release.
"Further details will not be made public at this time, but both parties expect to have a tentative settlement for ratification by CUPE’s membership before the end of the month."
