Matches set for final day of the Road to the Roar

The scene has been set for the final day of the Road to the Roar today.

MEN

Pat Simmons of Davidson, SK defeated Mike McEwen of Winnipeg, 7-5 to win the men's B final of the pre-trials in Prince George and advance to the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings Canadian Curling Trials, December 6-13 in Edmonton.

McEwen droppped to the first C final Saturday at 10 a.m., live on TSN, to face Jason Gunnlaugson of Winnipeg, who eliminated Kerry Burtnyk of Winnipeg, 9-7.

The second men's C final, live on TSN at 5 p.m., features Kelowna's Bob Ursel against the winner of the Jean-Michel Ménard-Wayne Middaugh game Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Both C final winners will also advance to the Roar of the Rings in Edmonton.

Men's A final winner - Jeff Stoughton, Winnipeg

Men's B final winner - Pat Simmons, Davidson, Saskatchewan

WOMEN

Krista McCarville of Thunder Bay defeated Kelly Scott of Kelowna, 6-3, in the women's B final of the pre-trials to advance to the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings Canadian Curling Trials, December 6-13 in Edmonton.

In Saturday's first C final, live on TSN at 11:30 a.m., Scott will meet Sherry Middaugh of Coldwater, Ontario.

In the second women's C final, Saturday at 6:30 p.m., live on TSN, Amber Holland of Kronau, Saskatchewan will play Marie-France Larouche of St-Romuald, Quebec, who eliminated Rachel Homan of Ottawa, 9-7 on Friday evening.

Both C final winners will also advance to the Roar of the Rings in Edmonton.

Women's A final winner - Crystal Webster, Calgary

Women's B final winner - Krista McCarville, Thunder Bay
