Goalie Garrett Adams was stellar as the Bannister Heat shut down visiting Salmon Arm Silvertips 3-0 in North Okanagan Atom Super Hockey League action Saturday at Wesbild Centre.
Landon Currie scored a pair of gorgeous goals, while Nick Mitchell went top shelf with a wrister on a shorthanded breakaway, to complete the Heat offence.
The Heat got 3+2 from Aaron Botterill as they grounded the K2 Stone Crushers 12-1 Sunday at Priest Valley Arena.
Noah Debalinhard, Currie and Mitchell each scored twice, while singles came from Ethan King, Alex Laurila and Nicholas Mann. Joshua Tyk produced three assists.
The Lumby Stars stopped the visiting North Okanagan Knights 11-6 in other Atom Super League play Sunday at Pat Duke Memorial Arena.
Graham Moss scored four times for Lumby, while Owen Beliveau (2+1), Braydon Van De Vliet (2), Chloe Yule (1+2) Tanner Gilbert and novice call-up Quin Williamson rounded out the offence.
Mark Gilmore picked up two assists and goaltender Josh Litven was solid.
The Vernon Authentic Plaque & Trophy Blazers bounced the Winfield Bruins 10-0, and clipped the Lumby Stars 8-7 in Bantam Super League play.
Parker Gray recorded 3+1 as the Blazers won in Winfield. Krister Work, with 2+2, Kristian Currie, with 2+1, Aaron Keryluke, with 1+3, Kenny Batke and Rowyn Lewis-Hatherley handled the Vernon offence. Brendan Zupp had four assists.

Against Lumby, the Blazers built up an early 4-0 lead, but only led 5-4 after two periods.
Gray pulled a natural hat trick in the first period, while Zupp pocketed 2+3, Lewis-Hatherley also scored twice and d-man Justin Hiscoe played great both ways with 1+1.
Kyle Weston supplied 3+1 for the Stars, while Jagger Ward earned 2+1 and singles came from Ryan Fair and Calvin Tourand.
The Blazers’ defensive core of Hiscoe, Work, Banning and Gavin Opp came up with some big plays to ward off the Stars’ attack when the Blazers were starting to tire. Guts & Glory awards went to Zupp, Lewis-Hatherley and Paige Nicklas.
Denny’s Flyers pulled their goalie for a sixth attacker and Travis Webster sniped with 15 seconds left in a 9-9 Bantam Super League tie with the Vernon Sharks Saturday at Wesbild Centre.
Webster, Brandon Tarasenko and Jeremy Clark each finished with 2+2, while Connor Butte-Landsfried also scored twice and Austin Bosquet once for the Flyers.
Kyle Evans turned the hat trick for the Sharks, who led 6-2 late in the second period.
Mary Rice and Steven Mitchell each bagged two goals, while Nikolas Wasylyk and Taylor Maxwell earned singles. Danielle Butler had two assists.
Wasylyk represented the Sharks, the Vernon Hockey Skills Academy and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at the Canucks-Rangers game Tuesday night in Vancouver. He skated out with the Canucks during the pre-game skate and stood with them during the national anthem.

Relentless Russell Day delivered a picture-perfect pass to Brock Wagner, who blasted a one-timer to start the unbeaten Red Bulls’ scoring.

With two minutes left in the third, some flawless tic-tac-toe passing from Sean Greene to Connor Smidt set up Brett Shaigec’s winner.

In Midget Super League play, the Vernon Reapers posted a 5-4 win over the short-staffed Stars Sunday at Pat Duke Memorial Arena.
The game highlighted two very talented players with Vernon’s Kyle Wiffen earning a hat trick and Lumby’s Matt Kolb firing four goals.
Zack Anderson and Quinn Finocchio also scored for the Reapers.
The Vernon Sabres skated to a 6-4 win over the host Winfield #2.
Conor Gilhooly collected 2+2 for the Sabres. Nathan Meyer, Clint Black, Tyler Addis and Jas Deol netted singles. Daniel Vassberg and Michael Vassberg each had two assists.
The Vernon Battery Chargers split a pair of Midget games, losing 6-5 to Vernon Seed Orchard before beating Vernon Nedco Electric 5-3.
Colin Smith (2), Henry Deuschl, Jordan Johanson and Dixon Louis scored in Saturday’s loss with Shota Maeda earning two helpers.
Smith, Jashan Jhajj, Maeda, Louis and Robert Romei scored in Sunday’s win. Smith had two assists with Chris DeJong and Clayton Coles sharing the goaltending.
The Vernon Midget Girls Warriors shut down Kamloops 4-0 in league play Sunday.
Mackenzie Barrie opened the scoring in the first with a nice behind the net pass from Mary Rice.
Meghan Tetrault then scored two in the second period, one assisted by Hailey Silcocks and Kate Alexander. Summer Jespersen scored shorthanded in the third period on a crisp pass from Tetrault. Kylie Assi earned the shutout.
In Pee Wee action, Kevin Fuller’s wrist shot over the shoulder of the Salmon Arm goalie with two minutes left, earned the Stars a 3-3 tie with the visiting undefeated Silverchips.
Dex Elders finished with two goals and was a threat every time he was on the ice for Lumby, while Shane Meadahl made some great saves.
