Pospisil posts three straight

Vernon’s Vasek Pospisil is seeking his fourth straight pro tennis singles title in Guadalajara, Mexico this weekend.

The 19-year old, who is coached by his father, Milos, won his third straight ITF Futures tournament last weekend at the $10,000 event in Obregon, Mexico.

Seeded second, Pospisil defeated fifth-seeded Mexican Daniel Garza 7-6(0), 6-3 in the final and did not drop a set en route to the title.

He also won the doubles alongside partner Nima Roshan. The duo stopped Adrien Bossel and Julien Dubail 6-7(5), 6-3, 11-9 in the championship match.

Pospisil won the first two singles titles of his career on the Pro Circuit in September at consecutive Futures events in Italy.

His latest victory allows him to better his previous career-best ranking of No. 436 when the new South African Airways ATP rankings are released next Monday.

Pospisil faces American Jordan Cox in his opening round match at the $10,000 Futures tournament in Guadalajara.
