Tigers playing playoff waiting game

The Vernon Tigers had to wait another two days to learn who they face in the Thompson-Okanagan Junior Lacrosse League best-of-five playoff championship series.

The host Kamloops Venom upset the regular-season champion Kelowna Warriors 10-9 in double overtime Thursday night to force a third and deciding game in their semifinal series Saturday night in Kelowna.

The final series is scheduled to start Tuesday night in either Kelowna or Kamloops with Game 2 going Thursday night at Wesbild Centre.

Game 3 would go Saturday night in either Kelowna or Kamloops with the fourth game Monday, July 20 in Vernon. A fifth game would go Wednesday, July 22.

The Venom finished fifth in the regular season at 6-6-2.
