Hillview’s Keith Vandenbrink paid a visit to the Calgary Stampede in between winning a pair of golf tournaments.

The lanky right-hander shot a 6-under-par 67 Wednesday to claim the $1,000 pro purse in the Gallagher’s Canyon Ladies Pro-Am in Kelowna.

“We teed up with the ladies so it was a neat format,” said Vandenbrink, who reeled off seven birdies in registering nines of 35-32.

Jesse Crowe of Mabel Lake and Dean Claggett of Two Eagles in West Kelowna were among four pros tied for second spot at 68. Vandenbrink also won a $50 skin with a birdie on the par-4 17th hole.

Vandenbrink topped last Friday’s Revelstoke Pro-Am, carding a 73 for $1,000 under sunny and windy conditions.

“I got in the sand three times in the first five holes and I was able to save par three times,” said Vandenbrink, who had nines of 34-37.

Next up for the pros is the Interior PGA Callaway Tour stop Monday at Talking Rock.
