U15s settle for TOYSL silver

The Vernon Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans United struck silver in U15 girls action at the Thompson-Okanagan Youth Soccer League Cup Championships last weekend in Penticton.
Vernon bowed to Penticton 5-3 (2-1, 3-2) in a two-game aggregate series.
In the opener, Penticton led 2-0 midway through the second half.
Vernon replied with 13 minutes remaining, after relentless checking by Breanna Irvine set up a pass to Ashley Krause, who blasted a shot into the corner.
The second game saw a faster pace with great end-to-end play that saw Penticton earn a 2-0 halftime lead.
Down 4-1 on aggregate, Vernon opened up the second half with sustained pressure, only to have Penticton go up 3-0 after a quick counter attack.
Vernon mounted a late comeback when Justine Correia crossed the ball to Krause who slotted it home from just inside the 18.
Minutes later, Correia squared it to Moore, who blasted a shot from 30 yards out after spotting the goalie off her line.
