Parking changes during construction
Visitors to Vernon Jubilee Hospital could face some challenges when it comes to parking.
Paving and design changes will impact public and staff parking from Wednesday to Sunday.
“There will be a parking ambassador on site to help direct traffic and to assist the mobility challenged in accessing the hospital,” said Cam McAlpine, with the Interior Health Authority.
Phase one of the work will see Graham Construction paving the visitor lot located in the southwest corner of the site (21st Avenue and Highway 97) Wednesday and Thursday.
This will complete the Graham paving project which has been underway for the past few weeks.
Phase two will involve IHA paving the west side of the hospital between Thursday and Sunday.
During this time, the access road and physician/staff parking lot located on the west side of the hospital will be closed intermittently.
“While the work is underway, there will be limited reserved physician parking stalls in the southwest visitor parking lot to support doctors in attending emergencies,” said McAlpine.
“Otherwise, staff, physicians, visitors and volunteers are asked to park in the lot across 21st Avenue during this work period.”
