Family searching for missing senior
RCMP and family members are concerned for the well-being of a missing Enderby man.
Albert Traill, 96, spoke to his daughter Wednesday at around 7 p.m., saying he was going to walk over to a friend’s house.
Shortly after midnight, RCMP were notified by Traill’s family that he failed to arrive at his destination.
“The friend was spoken to and there’s no indication that he showed up there,” said RCMP spokesman Gord Molendyk.
“He had told his daughter and son that he would contact them when he got there, so the kids stayed at the house. No other friends or family members have been in contact with him. Everybody is quite concerned.”
Police did extensive patrols of the area near the friend’s house, the street in Enderby where Traill lives, and other areas, but came up empty.
Calls to hospitals in Vernon and Salmon Arm were also negative.
Search and Rescue personnel were called in Thursday to assist with the search.
Traill suffers from high blood pressure and has slight dementia.
He was last seen wearing a blue flannel shirt, cream-coloured hat and what family members described as “poor shoes.”
Traill also went out without his walking cart.
Anyone who has seen Traill can call the RCMP at 250-838-6818.
