Some Vernon RCMP officers are being praised for their diligence in trying to solve a vehicle theft.

On Friday at 1:30 a.m., members of the local detachment located a stolen vehicle on 29th Street downtown.

The white 1989 Toyota Camry had been reported stolen in Kelowna earlier that evening.

“At approximately 2:30 a.m., the RCMP observed a male and two females return to the vehicle and arrested them for possession of stolen property,” said Sgt. David Evans, with the Vernon RCMP.

“The two females were later released without charge while the driver, a 20-year-old Cherryville man, was held for court for possession of stolen property and breaching his curfew condition from previous charges.”
