Assault under investigation
RCMP are trying to get to the bottom of an incident in which two men were assaulted.
Officers received a report Saturday at 1 a.m. of one man being stabbed and another individual being bear-sprayed in the 2900 block of 29th Street.
“Investigators are still trying to piece together what happened,” said Staff-Sgt. Cam Percy.
The man who had been stabbed was located by police at Vernon Jubilee Hospital. He sustained minor injuries.
It’s not known who bear-sprayed the second man.
“That’s something we’re still trying to piece together,” said Percy, who isn’t sure if the two men know each other.
Neither of the individuals have been co-operative during the investigation.
“We’re having issues with getting co-operation from those parties,” said Percy.
The man who was bear-sprayed was arrested and is facing charges of assault with a weapon.
