Cuzin’s Fundraising, created by cousins and grandmothers Micki Darbyshire of Vancouver and Roxi Hermsen of Vernon,  supports charities, groups and organizations that pertain to the health, well being, and culture of children and youth, including Third World projects.

Cuzin’s original books are not available in stores, instead they are printed in Vernon and shipped directly to you, or as a gift, to where you want them to go.

At the Cuzin’s launch party held recently at the Okanagan Science Centre, Princess Alana came out to dance, sing and show off a new tooth. She encouraged children to brush their teeth and gave out toothbrushes and stickers to the children.  She signed their books as well.

“Tony, the ‘Very Hairy Potter,’ read the book about pottery, his hairs and his wears, a somewhat true story about a very hairy hippy potter that made everyone laugh,” said Hermsen. “Since it was close to Halloween, a few friendly witches showed up. It was rumoured that they flew in on their brooms! First there was Hexi the witch, who told her story about determination, persistence and finally self acceptance. Then the ‘The Fascinating Witch’ told her short bed time story about wishing and magic.

A few characters will be at the Okanagan Science Centre Junior Haunted House today from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Princess Alana will have more stickers and toothbrushes, donated by Dr. Zolko, just in time for all that Halloween candy. Cuzin’s will donate 40 per cent of books sold to the OSC.
