Chris Madsen and Alara Serait of Body and Soul Productions, present the third Body and Soul Wellness Fair Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Best Western Vernon Lodge. This popular wellness fair will feature holistic and wellness businesses — body workers, nutrition and green products, healers, readers and other businesses that cater to the wellness of an individual, be it through body, mind, or soul.

One of the many workshops offered on Sunday will be from internationally known astrologer Michael O’Connor, who will talk about the year 2012, and what it means astrologically.

Another workshop offered will be from Rev. Sheila Tegart, of the Okanagan Centre for Spiritual Learning, who will give a lecture on “The Passion Test,” aiding attendees to discover where they stand in following their passions and how to turn up their life’s fire.

A featured presenter and wellness fair coordinator is Alara Serait, an intuitive, healer, writer and musician. She has studied various healing modalities and nutrition and fitness for 20 years. She is a Reiki Master and Theta Healer.

“This is an important event for those who seek to heal body and soul,” said Serait.

Chris Madsen was inspired to organize the first wellness fair while he was doing a meditation at Cosens Bay, blessing the city and area with love and light.

“I thought that for every issue, there is somebody in the community who has an answer,” he said. “This is about networking and resources for healing, inside and out, I am thrilled to be a part of creating and contributing to this special weekend event.”

Madsen, a world class guitar player, composer and teacher, is the owner and creator of the Music Educators Institute. Throughout the weekend he will be doing musical performances.

In addition to the lectures offered, Inner Light Yoga Studio will be guiding gentle yoga beginner classes.

Admission is free. For more information, call Serait at 250-558-0220 or visit the event website at www.bodyandsoulwellnessfair.com.
