See the National’s Nation
The first season of the National Theatre’s NT Live series continues with the family production of Terry Pratchett’s Nation, live from London’s National Theatre. It will be broadcast at Vernon’s Galaxy Cinemas, Saturday Jan. 30 at 10 a.m.
Adapted by Mark Ravenhill and directed by Melly Still, Nation is an exhilarating adventure story of survival and self-discovery featuring live music, dance and extraordinary puppets.
The play is set in a parallel world in 1860, where two teenagers, Mau and Daphne, are thrown together by a tsunami that has destroyed Mau’s village and left Daphne shipwrecked on his South Pacific island, thousands of miles from home.
Advance tickets are now available online at www.cineplex.com/events as well as at the theatre box office. Admission for children ages three to 13 is $12.95, seniors is $17.95 and general admission is $19.95 (plus taxes.)
