Thirty competitors from Lake Country through Penticton, and also from the Lower Mainland, took part in the South Okanagan Open Pickleball Tournament held at the Penticton Community Centre on Sunday, Oct. 25.
Pickleball is played indoor or outdoor, and it is the most rapidly expanding racquet sport in North America.
Pickleball is played with a hard paddle the size of a racquetball paddle, and a plastic ball similar to a whiffle ball.
The court has the approximate dimensions of a badminton court but with a low net such as in tennis.
Pickleball was introduced to the BC Seniors Games this year and was very successful.
