Dear Editor:
I would like to thank you and the community for the support of the recent tea held by the Eastern Star. Our group supports a number of charitable projects including funding for the local cancer car as well as money for cancer research and free cancer dressings to at-home patients.
This particular project was to support a bursary for a Summerland Secondary School graduating student.
A number of local merchants donated prizes for the raffle and the winners were as follows:
A honey pot of 100 loonies: Gladys Anderson of Penticton.
A Watkins gift certificate: Kerry Norrish of Summerland.
A Zias gift certificate: Marilyn Cristante of Summerland.
A Medical Centre gift basket: Olive Winter of Summerland.
A Willowbrook Lane gift basket: Bob Anderson of Penticton.
A Summerland Sweets gift basket: Kay Norrish of Summerland.
The members of the Eastern Star want to thank these merchants for their support too, for without them, finding funds for our projects would be much more difficult.
