Leadership needed on water

Dear Editor:
An important note re the water supply in this valley. We are all one with each other in the need for water, whether we extract it from the lake or tap watersheds in the hills.
We use, we return some, evaporation and inspiration take their toll.
Then there is the Columbia River Treaty. Okanagan and Similkameen waters flow into the Columbia River, thereby causing further claim to our water.
If the Penticton Channel seems to be unnecessarily high at times, just remember the CRT must be observed.
Okanagan Lake is considered a large reservoir for this commitment. At present, it is at a low point — worryingly low.
All communities and councils must consider very carefully the stressed situation of that most critical resource, water, before any new undertaking anywhere.
Real leadership is needed now.
