Kelowna performers take stage Saturday

Musicals, Pop and Jazz with M.A.S.K. (Musical Actors and Singers of Kelowna) is this Saturday, July 18 at Centre Stage Theatre.

Tickets are available at the Sweet Tooth on Victoria Road.

Shakespeare

Shakespeare Kelowna presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream at 7 p.m. from July 21 to Aug. 6 at Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna.

Band concerts

The Penticton Concert Band has a number of upcoming concerts this summer. They will be at the Penticton Seniors’ Centre on South Main Street, at noon on Saturday, July 25 and will be opening for Penticton Peach Fest at 2 p.m. on Aug. 5 when they will perform selections from big band to Broadway and classical to pop. Art Walk

Art Walk 2009 is being held July 25 to Aug. 29 and will feature works by local artists on display in Summerland businesses.

Art exhibit

The South Okanagan Similkameen Federation of Canadian Artists present Summer Sensations at Leir House, 220 Manor Park in Penticton, until Aug. 6. The show will feature 28 works from 20 artists.

Summerland artist Bill Hibberd, whose exhibition Outside In is currently on view in the Summerland Gallery, will be painting daily in the gallery from approximately 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hibberd’s show, which features colourful beach scenes in oil, will be at the gallery until Aug. 15. Don’t miss this chance to see an artist at work. And don’t forget to visit the Adams Room to see all the work created by participants in the Art Council’s Summer Arts Program for Kids.

Workshop

The Arts Council is pleased to present a workshop, Oil Painting for the Absolutely Terrified! with Vancouver artist and guest instructor Ken Campbell on Aug. 5 and 6 at the Art Gallery. To register drop by the Art Gallery at 9533 Main Street or call the Arts Council Office at 250-494-4494.
