Many Hats holds auditions

Many Hats Theatre Company is staging I Hate Hamlet at the Cannery in Penticton until Nov. 28. The cast includes three Summerland actors. Many Hats Theatre Company will be holding general auditions on Monday Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Cannery Stage.

The Cannery Stage is in the Cannery Trade Centre at 1475 Fairview Road, Penticton.

This is an open call for all of next seasons shows. Here’s the tentative lineup for the 2010 season:

o Feb. 4 to 27, The Love List by Canadian Playwright Norm Foster. A hilarious look at love and attraction with a hint of mystery. A romantic comedy with a twist, a Valentine’s Day treat! Directed by Tammy Hansel.

o April 8 to May 1, Something to Hide by British playwright Leslie Sands will keep you guessing right to the end. Directed by Eric Hanston.

o July 8 to 31, Bernard Slade’s classic romantic comedy Same Time Next Year, about a couple who have a slow motion affair meeting in the same motel every year, but only once a year revealing details of their lives.

Directed by Josephine Patterson.

o Sept. 9 to Oct. 2, New York playwright John Patrick Shanley’s Tony Award winning Doubt.  Set in a Bronx Catholic School in the repressive days before Vatican II this haunting parable raises more questions than it answers.

Directed by Ed Schneider.

o Nov. 11 to Dec. 4, Goodbye Piccadilly, a nostalgic play by award-winning Canadian playwright Douglas Bowie takes a warm and funny look at lives in the aftermath of World War II. Just in time for Remembrance Day.

Directed by Jamie Eberle.

Anyone interested in appearing in a Many Hats show is urged to come out. Auditioners may use their own prepared script or monologue or do a cold read from a provided script.

If you have a head shot and resume please bring it and if not be prepared to have your photo taken.

Previous acting experience and/or training an asset but not essential.

Many Hats is a non-equity,  actor-driven co-operative theatre company. Everyone involved in a production receives a share of the proceeds.
