Handcrafted gifts available at gallery

Season Sparkles, an opportunity to shop for unique, handcrafted gifts, will be held at the Summerland Art Gallery.
Opening night is Friday, Nov. 27 at the Festival of Lights. Show continues until Dec. 6.
If artists wish to participate please drop off several representative pieces before Friday, Nov. 6 for jury approval or e-mail jpgs to stacystudios@shaw.ca
Participants must be members of Summerland Community Arts Council.
Art sought
The Summerland Arts Council is searching for an original piece of art suitable for reproduction as a Christmas card.
The winning entry will be purchased by the gallery for its permanent collection (up to $300.)
Deadline for submission is Friday, Nov. 20, 2009. Contact the SCAC office (250-494-4494) for more details.
Photo exhibit
A Passion for Panoramas – an exhibition of works by Summerland photographer John Barber will open Thursday, Nov. 5, with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. at Leir House, 220 Manor Park Ave, Penticton.
Show continues until Dec. 18. Open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Contenders– Valdy and Gary Fjellgaard will perform Tuesday, Nov. 3 at Centre Stage Theatre at 8 p.m.

Watercolour art
The Magic of Watercolour – a Retrospective Celebration for the 25th Anniversary of the Kelowna Watercolour Guild at the Evans Gallery, 571 Lawrence Avenue, Kelowna, Oct. 29 to 31.
Musical works
Early Music Studio presents Beethoven’s Piano: the 200th birthday of a great instrument. Susan Adams plays a Broadwood Grand from 1809. Music by Beethoven and Haydn.
The performance will be held Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m at the Kelowna Art Gallery, 1315 Water St.
