Pleasure Painters start season

The Summerland Pleasure Painters are starting again on Friday Sept. 11  and every Friday after that from 8.30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Anybody who likes to paint or likes to try it is welcome. The emphasis is on pleasure. They are still located in the lower level of the Summerland Public Library. For more info call Noreen at 250-583-9448.

Pottery

The Summerland Potters Guild will be holding their first meeting of the fall season on Monday, Sept. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the guild, basement of the Art Centre, Wharton Street entrance. New members and anyone wishing to learn more about the Guild are welcome to attend.

Film series

Tickets for the Penticton Art Gallery’s Kitchen Stove film series go on sale soon at the Penticton Art Gallery, 199 Marina Way, 250-493-2928
and The Book Shop, 242 Main, 492-6661. All movies are shown at 7 p.m. at the Pen-Mar Cinema. Limited single tickets are available at the door. Empties on Sept. 23 and 24, The Pool on Oct. 14 and 15 and Departures on Nov. 4 and 5.

Fall fair

The Summerland Fall Fair celebrates its centennial this year and is being held this weekend Sept. 11, 12 and 13. Visit summerlandfallfair.com. Come and visit the Art Council’s display and find out what the Arts Council and all the Member Groups have planned for this fall.

Jazz festival

Tenor concert

At the gallery

Art Off the Wall happens Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Summerland Art Gallery. Purchase your ticket and take home an original piece of art. Meet the artist, enjoy the entertainment and fabulous food.

Story time

Preschool Storytime for children 31/2 to five years, Toddlertime for children two to three years old with an adult and Parent-Child Rhyme Time for babies under two years old with an adult begin next week at the Summerland Library. Programs are free, but require registration (250-494-5591.)
