Summerlanders gave generously as they supported a hair cut fundraiser to benefit the B.C. Cancer Foundation.
On Saturday evening, Sharon Christopherson had more than 75 centimetres of her long hair cut to make wigs for cancer patients. She also used the event as a way to raise money for the foundation.
The event raised a total of $8,618, significantly more than she had originally anticipated.
“I am totally impressed, considering I was going for $3,000,” she said.
By the time the hair cut took place, she had received more than $7,000, but donations continued to pour in on Sunday and Monday.
“It’s nice to see it all coming in,” she said.
