Greyhound drops stops in Okanagan

The Greyhound bus will still be stopping in Summerland, but Winfield and Peachland stops are being cut.
Greyhound spokesperson Abby Wambaugh said the routes that included the Winfield and Peachland stops are being removed.
“These specific reductions are occurring on Aug. 30.”
Wambaugh added that low ridership is the cause for Greyhound putting an end to the bus routes. Summerland’s stop is not on the list for removal, noted Wambaugh.
Greyhound buses stopping in Summerland carry passengers, mail and cargo.
Notice of the changes was filed by Greyhound through the B.C. Passenger Transportation Board on July 22.
The Winfield stop is being eliminated from the current bus route from Enderby to Vancouver, and also from the route from Vernon to Kelowna.
The stop currently sees more than 56 buses stopping per week.
The Peachland stop, which currently sees 35 buses stopping per week, is being cut from the Kelowna to Penticton bus route.
Other changes being made by Greyhound are reductions in frequency on routes from Penticton to Vancouver, Cache Creek to Vancouver and Dawson Creek to Prince George.
The alterations also see the reduction in frequency of stops in Mackenzie and trips from Prince George to the Alberta border.
