OHA hosts Canadian sports school tourney

The second tournament of the year for the Canadian Sports Schools Hockey League (CSSHL) will be held Oct.30 to Nov. 1 at the South Okangan Events Centre.
Pursuit of Excellence - Kelowna, Edge School – Calgary, AB, Banff Academy – Banff, AB, and SISEC from Cochrane, AB and the Okanagan Hockey Academy make up the league. The CSSHL will feature a 12-game regular season for each of its five clubs plus best-of-three semi-finals and finals play-off competition. Games will be held over showcase week-ends such as
this one, providing local hockey fans as well as Western Hockey League and Junior “A” leagues such as the Alberta Junior Hockey League, British Columbia Hockey League and the United States Hockey League member clubs the opportunity to watch skilled and spirited high school hockey. Some notable Okanagan Hockey Academy alumni include Devon Krogh (Ohio State), Luke Walker (Portland Winterhawks), James Kerr (Princeton) and Mitch Chapman (Kelowna Rockets)
The tournament begins Friday at 11:30 a.m. and wraps up Sunday with the last game starting at noon Sunday.
The OHA has two teams playing, one in the Prep Division (Midget
AAAA) and one in the Varsity Division (Midget AAA). The Varsity team will kick off the weekend with a first game match up against the Pursuit of Excellence at the Community Rink on Friday. Game time is 11:30 a.m. The OHA Prep team takes to the ice for a 5 p.m. game Friday night
against the Edge.
