Penticton and Friends Celebrity Golf Classic raises $33,000

The 2009 Penticton and Friends Celebrity Golf Classic raised $33,000. Among the groups receiving money were the Salvation Army, O.S.N.S., B.C. Special Olympics, Young Life, Moog and Friends Hospice, Penticton and District Society for Community Living, Agur Lake Camp, Penticton Vees Roundabout and the College Foundation. The following were present for the cheque presentation starting from left: Guy Dow-Penticton and Friends, Ivan McLelland, Jean Kearney-Good Samaritan, Christine Simmons-Salvation Army, Heather Fudge-Good Samaritan, Judy Sentes -O.S.N.S., Mona Hazell -B.C. Special Olympics and Adrian Gerber-Young Life.

This year the Penticton and Friends Celebrity Golf Classic raised $33,000 for several community groups. The event has been going for 24 years and has raised over $800,000. This year's event was in honour of Rob Wylie, the late owner of Salty's Restaurant, who was a supporter of the event.
