Twin Lakes Ladies golf

Dolores Lowenberger won the first flight during Twin Lakes Ladies Day golf. She was followed by Bernice Moody and Sandi Severson. Vicki Cartwright took the second flight followed by Dot Creighton while Carleen Dyke was the third flight winner followed by Shirley Evans.

T.D.A wins big

In men's slo-pitch action, T.D.A. routed Last Call Liquor Pigs 24-2. Doug Goodwin and Kevin Morris homered while Jay Carey was the winning pitcher. T.D.A continued its winning ways by defeating the Timbermen 28-15. Scottie Dearin homered for T.D.A. Doug Goodwin  and Jay Carey shared the pitching win.

Special Olympics seek help

Penticton's Special Olympics B.C. group are looking for a few good people. An hour a week, an hour a month, whatever a generous person can give is appreciated. The organization is looking for board positions, coaches, sport volunteers, event volunteers, fundraisers etc. Interested in sports or not, they have an assortment of tasks that need volunteer help to ensure athletes are provided the best experience possible. Drop by the Okanagan Wellness Centre on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. located at #318 Main St.

Penticton presently provides programs for the following sports and would welcome help in; alpine skiing, basketball, bocce, 5-pin bowling, 10-pin bowling, curling, cross country skiing, golf, power lifting, snowshoeing, softball and swimming. As well as a new program for 2-6-year-olds called Active Start. For more information contact Bob Braaten at 250-492-5340.
