Hornets outgun Young Guns

Bryan Kromm notched the championship winning goal for the Speedway Hornets who clinched the youth ball hockey league. The Hornets defeated the Young Guns 5-4 with goals from Quinn Harris, Jesse Keylock and Jeff Barber. Assists went to Keylock with two, Skylar Noe-vack and Mason Burns with singles. Josh Stickney stuck it to his opponents in goal. During the season, the Hornets went 13-1 and went 2-1 in the playoffs. Burns led the team in scoring with 17 goals and 29 points, while Barber had 25 goals and 35 points. Stickney went 14-2 in net.

Summerland golf

Val Eibner took the first flight in low gross during the Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club low gross/low net competition. Following Eibner was Gwen Redfern and Lil Smith; low net - tied for first Doris Tower and Linda Brussee. Second flight winner was Diana Leitch followed by Lynda Krysta. Tied for first in low net was Pat Stohl and Donna Pederson. In the third flight Sandy Floyd won the low gross. Low net winner was Jean Walker.

Fourth flight low gross winner was Sheila Westgate followed by second Janice Goll. Low net winner was Zoe Morris followed by Joan Coleman.
