RCMP are investigating a possible connection in smash and grabs in both Penticton and Summerland.
In the latest incident, police responded to an alarm at Nesters Market in Summerland shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.
“Culprits drove a vehicle into the front doors to gain access into the building. Two male suspects were caught on video, departing with a computer,” said Sgt. Mona Kauffeld of the Summerland RCMP, adding this is the third time this year the market has been broken into
A similar incident occurred in Penticton on Aug. 23 at 5:15 a.m. when a red Ford Escort with black rims smashed the glass at the Husky station on South Main Street. RCMP said this incident also involved two males in the vehicle. One jumped out of the car, ran into the station and stole the computer.
“Yes we are looking for links between other ones in the area. Peachland IGA also was hit not too long ago, so we are investigating and looking to see if there are connections to others in the Valley,” said Kauffeld.
