An undercover Penticton RCMP operation during the month of June has led to charges against 14 suspected drug dealers.

“Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force officers have completed a short-term undercover operation ... which they targeted street level drug dealers by using undercover police officers to buy drugs from dealers,” said Cpl. Brad Myhre.

The 14 suspected drug dealers face a total of 28 drug trafficking charges for selling powder cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and marijuana to undercover RCMP officers.

Myhre said five of the suspects have been arrested so far and held for court, while warrants have been either issued for or are pending for the remaining nine suspects.

In a separate matter, the Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force reports that Richard Cody Graham was sentenced in provincial court on Tuesday to four years in jail after pleading guilty to possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking following his arrest on May 19. The 26-year-old Penticton man had six previous convictions for drug trafficking.
