Penticton undercover RCMP officers have taken more than $15,000 in drugs off the streets in under two weeks.

The most recent and biggest of the three busts came on July 7 when a Penticton man allegedly sold ecstasy to an undercover RCMP police officer. Cavin Noonan, 28, was arrested by the Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force and charged with two counts of trafficking in ecstasy and two counts of possession of ecstasy for the purpose of trafficking.

"On this same date a drug search warrant was executed at Noonan's residence on 3 Mile Road near Penticton and officers seized approximately 1,500 ecstasy pills, a small quantity of cocaine and a substantial quantity of cash," said Cpl. Brad Myhre of the Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force. "Additional trafficking charges are expected on two further individuals, a result of this search warrant. The approximate street value of the seized drugs in this matter is approximately $15,000."

On July 2 the drug task force arrested Tracy Carriere, a 38-year-old female resident of Osyooos after she allegedly sold crystal meth to an undercover officer. Carriere was already free on bail for a previous methamphetamine trafficking charge out of Osoyoos at the time of her latest release. The woman is charged with two counts of trafficking in crystal methamphetamine and one count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking plus two counts of breaching an undertaking.

A 44-year-old Penticton woman was arrested on June 27 after also allegedly selling crack cocaine to an undercover RCMP officer. Jacqueline Deeks (aka Edwards) was arrested by the Penticton RCMP Drug Task Force and charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine and one count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
