A Penticton RCMP Bait car helped nab what police are calling a “prolific offender” from the city.

Jordan Brown was arrested on July 4 after the Penticton Integrated Crime Reduction Unit reviewed the video surveillance from the bait vehicle and identified the 19-year-old suspect.

“Penticton members determined that entry had been gained to the bait car and property planted in the car had been stolen,” said Const. Mark Labossiere of the Integrated Crime Reduction Unit.

Brown was brought before the courts on July 6, where he pleaded guilty.

He is currently being held in custody until his sentencing in August.

“Penticton RCMP want to remind people that bait cars are routinely parked with planted property.

Remember bait cars are everywhere. Steal a bait car, go to jail,” said Labossiere.
