Investigators have deemed the suspicious death of Penticton woman to be a suicide.

RCMP issued that statement Friday afternoon following an earlier autopsy performed in Penticton, some two days after emergency services had responded to an apartment located in the 400 block of Winnipeg Street.

Upon performing CPR, they determined that the woman had sustained a gunshot wound and called police, who initially treated the incident as suspicious. But their investigation and autopsy have since led to a different conclusion.
