Police cruiser collides with utility pole
An on-duty RCMP member responding to a request for back up ran into his own set of troubles on Tuesday.
A member of the Oliver/Osoyoos detachment driving a marked police vehicle left the Osoyoos detachment with full emergency equipment activated en-route to help a Oliver officer.
"Approximately two kilometres north of Osoyoos, the police vehicle went off the road and collided with a utility pole," said Sgt. Rob Vermeulen, media relations officer. "The crash was a single vehicle accident, involving only the police vehicle. The police officer operating the vehicle sustained minor injuries."
The Oliver/Osoyoos detachment is involved in investigating the accident, with the assistance of the South East District reconstructionist, as well as the South Okanagan Traffic Services section.
