Cyclist remains in critical condition
Police are still looking for the suspect in hit and run bike crash that has left a 53-year-old Penticton man in critical condition.
While police have not yet made an arrest in the incident, Cpl. Rick Dellebuur said the half-dozen officers working on the case are following leads based on the numerous tips they have received from the public and witnesses to the crash.
In the meantime, the cyclist in the crash remains in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Kelowna General Hospital where he was trasferred following the Tuesday morning crash. Among the Penticton cyclist’s injuries are broken ribs, a punctured lung and fractured legs.
The man was hit by a stolen Mazda MX-3 Precidia while riding his bicycle on Lakeshore Drive near Front Street in Penticton.
The driver immediately left the scene and abandoned the car in another location in Penticton where it was recovered by police.
