When Canadian country music artist Johnny Reid returns to Penticton this New Year’s Eve, it will be a completely different atmosphere.
Having played in the intimate setting of the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre last New Year’s, this time around he is opening up his live set to a larger audience at the South Okanagan Events Centre, an evening concert to following after an afternoon Penticton Vees game.
Reid adds some serious steam to his sound on his latest album Dance With Me: rollicking pianos, soaring strings and tight horn arrangements that mine Country, old time Soul, Rhythm and Blues and Rock and Roll alike.
The artist accepted five awards at the 2009 Canadian Country Music Awards including Album of the Year for Dance With Me.
Reid also won Songwriter of the Year for co-writing A Woman Like You with Brent Maher, Video of the Year for the same song as well as Male Artist of the Year.
