Performer brings classic folk sound to AGSO
Heralded Western Canada folk singer Trevor Caswell will be bringing his folk sound to Penticton this week.
The Kamloops resident will be performing at the Art Gallery of the South Okanagan this weekend.
With influences of Neil Young and Bob Dylan, Caswell has honed his classic folk sound after spending years busking on streets and performing in cafes. Along with solo appearances Caswell also performs with a full band including a cello and violin. His third and most recent CD, Mr. Poirier was released in 2006 to critical favour, described as “an absolute pleasure to hear.” This came three years after Another Something and five years after his first release Serenade.
Saturday’s performance isn’t Caswell’s first in the valley, he has also performed at the Komasket Music Festival near Vernon, and has travelled throughout western Canada and into Ontario.
The AGSO show begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday Tickets are $10 for members and students and $15 for non-members.
