Home Learners collect Mind Grind award
Victoria Ritchie (left), Oscar Morrison, Julian Pearson and Kailash Westby display their awards and $1,000 cheque for the Penticton Home Learners’ Program they earned for their win at the recent Environmental Mind Grind finals. The students beat teams from across the Okanagan Valley and Kamloops. Shaka Lake Middle School picked up $200 for their second place finish at the same event. The Environmental Mind Grind is a yearly event held to celebrate Earth Day. Teams from schools across the Province answer questions on environmental issues ranging from water conservation, species at risk and waste reduction.
