On Thursday, for one night only, several local fine restaurants have pledged that 25 per cent of their food take will go straight to the Living Positive Resource Centre of Okanagan Valley. The more money spent at these generous restaurants that night, the greater the donation that goes to this valuable local non-profit agency.

Participating restaurants in Penticton, Peachland and Summerland are: the Black Iron Grill, Granny Bogners, Fibonacci, Gasthaus on the Lake, the Vanilla Pod, and the Cellar Door Bistro at Sumac Ridge. There are also a total of 24 participating restaurants in the Okanagan. A complete list is available at .

The Living Positive Resource Center delivers vital life services to people with AIDS, Hepatitis B/C and who are HIV-positive, as well as counselling, testing and assistance for those people and their families. They also publicize educational information to reduce the further spread of these conditions.

Statistics show that despite all that has been learned regarding the transmission of AIDS and Hepatitis B and C, it is still a serious risk for the unwary. The population with highest rates of transmission over the last few years is young women.
