Education Minister Margaret MacDiarmid can’t seem to stop talking about full-day kindergarten. That’s not surprising, since it is one of the biggest single changes to hit the B.C. school system in many years.
While not everyone is happy with the move to full-day kindergarten, it is more positive for the minister than the problems posed for the province’s education system by they decline in enrolment. MacDiarmid said that the province expects 6,000 fewer students this year, adding up to about 60,000 fewer students than a decade ago.
