iSight Optometry Riot
The Lake Country Riot wreaked havoc in the Mission on Saturday caging the Panthers 3-0 in boys under 14 soccer action. The Riot played with a defensive plan as they only dressed 12 for the game. However, forward Shane Hayes broke in down the left flank and drifted a beautiful left footer to open the scoring a couple of minutes in. The locals sat on their lead for the first half simply controlling the midfield and shutting down any penetration the Panthers mustered.
The Mission Panthers were frusterated all match. Hayes turned the trick again to open the second half tapping in a pass from Eli Cato at the side of the net. Cameron Lawrence rounded out the scoring on a long solo run from midfield. Dragging three defenders, then going around the keeper before calmly tucking the ball in far post. A brilliant goal to close it out. The defending core of Erik Dion, Riley Woodhouse, Keaton Roper and Blake Lawrey were tireless in helping keeper Scott Marshall record the shutout.
In boys under 14 division 3 action, the Rockets were unable to compete with Westbank Self Storage who defeated them by a score of 5-0.
