The fundraising effort for the Creekside Theatre’s new seats is really starting to blossom, thanks in part to the Lake Country Garden Club.
Last week the Club signed a $1,000 dollar cheque for the purchase of five seats. The money donated was the proceeds from the annual plant sale that the club holds each spring at the Senior’s Centre.
With the Garden Club’s contribution 36 of 270 seats have now been purchased and Horst Jassman, Theatre Coordinator, says he has received a number of verbal commitments that he is just waiting to collect on.
The Garden Club is also beginning to spread the word that this summer they will be organizing a garden tour for June 12. Ten gardens will be visited and the flora will be accompanied by artwork and a talk from a master gardener so remember to mark the date on next year’s calendar.
