Home based video outlet bursting with titles

Gary Seguin of Olalla has been in the video rental business for a long time.

He’s run video stores in Ontario and Fort St. John for 12 years, and had an outlet in Osoyoos up until early summer this year.

“That operation wasn’t good for us,” he explained, “ so we decided to set up here and see how things went.”

Black Panther Video, as Seguin’s Olalla operation is known, carries more than 3000 titles.

“I have as many movies as Blockbusters or Rogers,” he said.

In fact, Seguin has so many titles, he doesn’t have floor space enough to display them at his Olalla address at 2649 Ninth Street.

In addition to movies, Black Panther has a full selection of games for all gaming systems and disc sets of popular television series.

Seguin said that the quality of his discs are superior to other outlets because he has a disc repair machine that can repair most defects that may appear in the rentals.

“If a disc is a problem once, it won’t go back out until it’s repaired and working properly,” he said.

Black Panther Video is open from noon until 8:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from noon until 9:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
