Two Mount Boucherie Secondary School students have qualified for the B.C. School Sports swimming provincials.

Hayley Pipher and Kate Aguiar will take part in the B.C. School Sports Provincial Championships, to be held Nov. 20 and 21 in Richmond.

The two swimmers were among four West Kelowna swimmers to compete at the regional swim.

Pipher and Aguiar were joined by Michelle Boorman and Melissa Vipond to represent Mount Boucherie Secondary School at the Okanagan Regional Swim Meet held Oct. 25 in Kamloops.

The meet attracted Grade 8 to 12 students from Revelstoke to Oliver.

Pipher, in Grade 12, dominated the events she swam.

She won the 100 metre breaststroke with a 1:16.57, 100 metre freestyle with a 1:01.31, 100 metre backstroke 1:07.39 and the 200 metre individual medley 2:29.52.

Aguiar, a Grade 11 student, came in third in the 100 metre butterfly and the 200 metre I.M.

The top three placings qualified them for the provincials.

Boorman, a Grade 11 student, swam new personal best times in the 50 metre freestyle, 50 butterfly and the 100 free.

Vipond, in Grade 10, swam all her best times as well in the 50 metre free, 100 metre backstroke and the 100 metre breaststroke.
