Youngster is flying high
Rider Max Day flies through the air during a motocross race.
Seven-year-old Max Day is one hot little rider.
Day, who lives, eats and sleeps motocross, recently was named the rookie of the year as the Canadian Motorsport Racing Club’s fall season has come to an end.
Even better, Day came home with two $1,500 certificates from Kawasaki Canada for his race performances.
And it’s no wonder. Day lives for motocross.
If he’s not riding he’s looking at all the magazine’s featuring the pro riders or playing his motocross game.
Day rides a KTM 50cc and competes with other young riders.
He used his Kawasaki certificates to purchase a KX 65cc, which is a whole different story from his 50cc that doesn’t have gears.
He raced his 65 in a few races still managing to come out in the top 10 while learning how to rip through the gears. With dreams of some day competing with the pros, Day is well on his way to having a chance if he keeps up the passion for the sport
The CMRC came to an end with a banquet hosted by the Kamloops motocross club.
Kelowna riders that won awards included the Nuyens family of brothers Layne and Deegan and dad Jason.
The Acheson brothers Daniel and Travis had a couple of bronze medals.
Father and daughter team Marc and Brandi Denis topped out with a pair of fifth place showings overall. Female rider Rayshel Brooke came home with a 3rd for the fall series.
Tyler Paziuk and Zack Ruff cracked the top two while eared a first overall in his class.
