Volleyball season is into full swing and already a couple of Kelowna senior high teams have hit the winner’s circle.

The KSS senior girls and boys both grabbed tournament titles last weekend. KSS’s senior girls claimed first place at the 40-team UBC tournament while the Owls senior boys were closer to home, winning the Penticton High Invitational tournament.

The win by the KSS girls will likely improve its provincial AAAA rankings: Heading into the event the team was already listed as the seventh best senior girls team in B.C.

The KSS boys team lost only one match out of six en route to the championship win in Penticton.

The Owls boys are off to UBC this weekend while the girls will prepare for the UBCO girls tournament Oct. 9. UBCO is hosting a large senior boys volleyball tournament this weekend.
