Young motocross racers converged on Salmon Arm last weekend as the Pee Wee Hare Scrambles series continued.
Fifteen local racers were at Mount Ida in Salmon Arm on Sunday for the Bark Buster Hare Scrambles race.
Racers ranged in age from five to nine and raced their 50 cc and 65 cc motorcycles around a specially designed cross country course with parents and spectators cheering them on.
Racers travel from all over the Okanagan Valley to participate in the series.
In the 50 cc class Derek Allanson, Jesse Insley and Rueben LePoidvin finished first, second and third respectively with Korbin Forsythe, Jayke Couffin, Rylie Cutler and Georgia Insley following close behind.
The 65 cc class had nine riders including Jack Christiansen, Giovenni Mazzei and Tye Mitchell placing one, two and three. Mitchell provided excitement by pulling a great wheelie right off the starting line.
Other racers in the 65 cc class included Cameron Roberge, Keegan LePoidvin, Alex Thompson, McKinley Skinner, Devon Nordbland and Mariah Mitchell.
Both classes raced for medals, goodie bags and T-shirts.
The Bark Buster was the fourth race of the Okanagan Hare Scrambles Series with the next race being a double header race weekend, Oct. 17 in Naramata and then Oct. 18 in Peachland.
