Waste pick-up unsatisfactory

To the editor:
Yard Waste Issue Won’t Wither and Blow Away, by Jason Luciw, Capital News Oct. 11.
Had anyone in the private sector screwed up so big time as has the waste management supervisor, his/her pay envelope would contain a one-way bus ticket to the most distant destination served, instead of the regular paycheque.
We had a well oiled spring-fall yard waste collection system in place and working until waste management and co. got involved and decided that the collection of lawn clippings was more impressive and favorable to some of the elitists and so he scrapped the old system in favor of this more costly and grossly unsatisfactory one.
The manager didn’t realize that green lawn clippings compost quicker and easier than dry leaves. That they weigh much more as well, but he went ahead with this silly idea anyway.
Now, taxpayers will probably be saddled with the results of this dimness.
However, we should be grateful that he wasn’t around during biblical times to screw up the Lord’s Prayers as well.
