Harmless entertainment into harmful behaviour

To the editor:
Over the last weeks several editions of your paper carried front page pictures of police officers dealing with trouble and crime, the last one about the investigation of the third homicide in Kelowna this year, (Gun Shots Ring Out In Park, Oct. 28).
This was followed by the picture Shiver Me Timbers (Oct. 30) and the “Ghoulish” attack of a woman which would be considered harmless Halloween fun by most people today.
It may not have been intended, but it made me think about the way entertainment values affect our behaviour.
If it stimulated our thinking along these lines, maybe it did something good.
