These are lyrics from the song, Waiting for an Angel, taken from Neil George Snelson’s profile page on the web site christianartists.ca.

Snelson has been charged with first degree murder in the death of Jennifer Cusworth. She was found 16 years ago in a water-filled ditch by the side of Swam Road in an agricultural area on the outskirts of Kelowna. Her parents have returned to the site every year to help keep the case alive.

By the side of the road

In an old part of town

His head hanging down

His face was worn by years of strain

As I passed him by I heard him say

Waiting for an angel

Waiting for some light

Waiting for the dawning

That comes on after night

Down the road in another part of town

A lonely mother just looking around

Waiting for the return of a child

To warm her heart, make her smile she says

Waiting for an Angel

Waiting for some light

Waiting for the dawning

That comes on after night

Church and city, it doesn’t matter where

Come together, together to prey

Raise our voices up to the Lord

Singing together so we can be heard

Waiting for an Angel

Waiting for some light

Waiting for the dawning

That comes on after night

We all need an Angel

We all need some light

Looking for the dawning

That comes on after night.
