Along with serious play, there is a lot of fun and as usual I have made some personal observations. Bob Guy is the Grand Puba this year and did a fine job, as did Ronni Ward, the official Pubarette. Lorraine Bulatovich received the whiner’s jacket for “Whiner of the Year.” Ken Wilson is the oldest player at 84 years young. Words that “cannot” be used for the masters are agile, strength, politically correct, alert, responsive, vigor, concentration and powerful. Terms that “could” be used this year are clumsy, always politically incorrect, unprepared, enthusiasm, sluggishness, distraction and dilution. Terry Wardrop and Ray Cottrell were the #1 troublemakers this year while no one stayed to watch Neil Clegg play. Don Makela got dumped by Don Holzer (nick-named “Shrek”) and then Don was redumped, so it was a mutual dumping. We missed Jim Hansen’s colourful underwear and it was great to see that Keith Ingster is back in town. All in fun guys, after all, “Growing old is mandatory—growing up is your choice!”
